The Inaugural Meeting of The Dropped Stitchers and other stuff

Hi there

Well it's been a very busy week for me in one way or another and I didnt get chance to blog last Sunday or during the week, so this is going to be a blog heavy with photos (sorry!!!) cos there's a lot to tell and show.

So last Sunday the #knitcraftsocial called The Dropped Stitchers at Hobbycraft Preston was born.  And boy was it a good turn out for the first week.  Including myself, eight ladies attended, and we all got on really really well and passed on knowledge and info about all our projects and one lady learned how to crochet and I helped her with her lovely Rowan knitting pattern.  I can't wait to see her progress on it because it's just a beautiful yarn and colour.  Some of the ladies make the Octopus for Preemies and you can find out more about the good work they do by clicking HERE

Here's some photos I took of the group all chilling out and having fun.

Of course I had to take my WIPS of my second Tea on the Green and Water Garden to show and they are now looking really good and I've done a bit more since these photos were taken.

We had a nice little set up of magazines and books and some lovely fruit juice cordial and water and some haribo (because we can!!!) and some biscuits too.

I couldn't resist buying one of the cute yarn bowls new to the store and a few of the ladies bought one too.  Check out the lovely blue colour on the inside and how shiny and smooth it is.

This wonderful Japanese Knot bag is from a shop on Etsy called craftmadclaire.  It's made from the most beautiful silk fabric and such a pretty pattern and holds a bit of a WIP whilst sitting on a bench having coffee in the sunshine.

Here's a bit more WIP on the Water Garden CAL using beads on the Oriental Magnolia hexies.  I just love adding beads.

Now when I saw that Cuddlebums Yarns had some happy sock packs on her website I treated myself to one of the wonderful packs and these are destined to become some very happy knitted socks very soon.  I've got some lovely sharp Hiya Hiya circular knitting needles and so will cast on very soon.  Just look at the riot of beautiful colours in this little mini skeins.

At art group meeting a few weeks ago I started experimenting with some water colours and am in the process of working on a turtle drawing/painting.  Watch this space for progress on this.

So that's all for now, and I'll be back on Wednesday for a WIP update and then hopefully Thursday and Friday too.

Bye for now
Take care
Tanya xx
