Week 1 - Water Garden Crochet A Long

Hi there

Hope you've had a good long weekend full of family fun and love and if you craft, just a little bit of crafting too in amongst the chocolate you might have been gifted.

The weather hasn't been that good so what an opportunity to stay indoors and do some crochet... which coincided on Good Friday (and what a good day it was) with the release of the first part of the new Water Garden crochet-a-long designed by Lisa and Lynda.

You can get your pattern by joining the FB group called Knitcraft Crochet Along by clicking HERE
OR you can head to the Hobbycraft blog where the pattern will be available every Friday for you over the course of the next seven weeks.

I've made a start on the pattern and now have a little bit of joining to do.

I am of course using the Cotton Blend Plain yarn by Knitcraft as I feel this is the only yarn that will do the pattern justice and give just the right amount of structure to those awesome 3D flowers on each of the hexies.  You can of course use whichever yarn you please.

Here's my progress.

I'm now cracking on with another one of the hexies called Oriental Magnolia and shall be back soon with an update on those and my joining.  As you may be able to see I've added beads to the ends of some of the daffodil petals and water lillies too and I am going to continue with this beading work so that hopefully my blanket will look like little glistening water droplets.

Take care
Tanya xx
