Polkadoodles NEW STUFF - DIES !!!

Hello everybody,

So last week Nikky from Polkadoodles launched her very own wonderful dies and I've been playing with a couple of them this past week.  You can get all the DIES right here, but here's the ones I've been playing with:

I decided to cut the Super Sprigs out of Kraft Card and they cut like a dream on my Spellbinder machine and the Flowers 1 I cut from white felt and then inked them with my Derwent Inktense Pencils and then layered them and added a faux pearl flower to the centre.  I only used the two smaller sizes.  The leaves were cut from green felt.
I coloured up the 'Be Happy' colouring page from Colour Therapy Florabunda Collection 1 which you can find HERE

I coloured everything with Polychromos pencils and then layered it onto an 8x8 card and there's my make using the wonderful new dies as accents on my colouring page.  I've got another of the dies in my stash to play with which I'm still working on my idea so bear with me while my creative juices flow.

It's Digi Choosday - Week 39 - Anything Goes

llo everybody

It’s Digi Choosday day again.
Hope you’re ready to enter another Digi Choosday Challenge.

This week our challenge is ‘ANYTHING GOES ’, as it is every week.  So you’ve no excuse not to enter with your wonderful crafty creations.  But the design team will have their own challenge theme just to keep them on their toes, which this week it’s BLUE AND WHITE CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS.
So this week I have upcycled an old candle jar and covered the inside with a layer of Mod Podge with a couple of tablespoons of glitter in it and then waited three days for it to dry clear.  I then covered the inside of the lid as well and tied some blue ribbon round it that says Merry Christmas on it.  The inside has three battery operated tea lights in for ultimate glow as can be seen on the pictures below.  The flowers are from the Festive Christmas CD which I printed out in various sizes and coloured them with silver sparkly Uniball Signo pens and Derwent Inktense pencils in shades of blue and blue gel pens and then added pearly gems to the centres and also glitter to the centres of the little ones and then decorated the outside of the jar with them.  The holly leaves are also from the collection which I've sprayed with Perfect Pearls Mist.
Full details of what I’ve used can be found in the Thumb Linkies below.

Here is my make.....

I’m excited to see your makes for this week’s challenge.  Perhaps you could choose to create a card, a fab piece of décor or something else, but just remember to follow the rules listed in the blog.  And not only can you win a fabulous prize if you are in the top 3/random prize winner but you can also grab your discount code.  How fab is that?  The discount code only lasts for 24 hours so you’d better head off over there right now to grab it.

And you’ve still got chance to enter our  ANYTHING GOES challenge from last week!!

Why not join in our Facebook groups as well.  Just click here:

It’s a great community group to join in with and show off your Polkadoodles makes.  There’s always one of the Design Team around to have a natter with and offer guidance and inspiration, so don’t be shy….head on over there right now!!!

Happy Birthday Dad, Ruth and Kyeisha - Polkadoodles Stylee (Of Course)

Happy Sunday everybody

Hope you're having a fabulous weekend.  I know I have...  I've done a little bit of this and a little bit of that and a lot of crafting....because that's what weekends are for!

Well this weekend it has been my dad's birthday and he is absolutely in love with the whole adult colouring malarkey and so I coloured him his birthday card this year using my brand new metallic polychromos pencils and some Uniball Signo Glitter gel pens in silver and gold and then layered over the top of the gold a layer of gold Wink of Stella.  I'm in love with those polychromos pencils and will be building up my stash slowly over the coming months.  I used the Uniball Signo white gel pen for the dogs and a black Sharpie pen for the black bits too and then finished it off with a sentiment I typed myself in the middle of the design and then a length of black and white ribbon from my Jo Malone perfume (that I saved in my ribbon stash just for this special occasion).  I used the Polkadoodles Colour Therapy Collection 1 which you can get HERE for the card just to prove that florals can be used for men as it all depends on how you colour those beautiful blooms.

And so while I'm sharing my dad's birthday card I thought I would share with you two recent cards I made for my best friend Ruth and her daughter Ky'eisha.  I made these back in August just before I went off on holiday to Spain and forgot to share them.  They have also been made using the Polkadoodles Colour Therapy 1 Collection available HERE but I've coloured them totally in gel pens in purples and pinks and greens.  I had a stash of some colouring changing gel pens that I used to colour the leaves on the cards and I'm just in love with the subtle colour changes.  Finished off with ribbon and the odd bit of glitter here and there and voila, that's another two cards made.

Hope you like the three cards I've shared.

It's Digi Choosday Day - Week 38 - Anything Goes

Hello everybody

It’s Digi Choosday day again.

Hope you’re ready to enter another Digi Choosday Challenge.

This week our challenge is ‘ANYTHING GOES ’, as it will be every week.  So you’ve no excuse not to enter with your wonderful crafty creations.  But the design team will have their own challenge theme just to keep them on their toes, which this week it’s RED & GREEN CHRISTMAS GIFT WRAPPED.

So for my make this week I’ve used papers and embellies (in fact everything I've used) is from the brand new Festive Christmas (Soup) CD Collection
The Collection was showcased by Nikky on Create & Craft last Friday and the shows were amazing and if you've not got your collections yet, which include digi crafting and stamps then why not.
I've made an 8x8 card by using two of the papers layered on top of one another and a sentiment as well and then layered over the top a string of stockings in shades of red and green which of course are used to gift wrap presents and then piled a big pile of decoupaged pressies up on the side in red and green.  I've added a vintage feel to the card with the distressed edges inked with red ink and then touches of glitter here and there.

Here is my make for this week’s challenge:

Hello folk

My third share of the evening is this tea light card made using the papers from the collection together with embellies and oodles of glitter and ribbon too.  I've never made a tealight card before and got my template from the internet and then went ahead and embellished it with lots of stuff from the Xmas collection you can get right HERE

Hope you like my gift with a card.

Polkadoodles Launch Day - Xmas Soup - Robin Poinsettia Hanger

Hello folks

Here I go again with another sample from today's Polkadoodles' Create & Craft shows at 2pm and 7pm using the brand new CD Xmas Soup collection.

For this make I used one of the undecorated MDF style hangers ready for decorating and just printed out oodles and oodles of embellies from the collection in different sizes and then a robin and the 25 sign and used glitter and perfect pearls spray over all the digis before I cut them out and assembled them layering them on top of one another on the shape and then finished off with some red checked ribbon and some white fluffy stuff puffed up with the use of a heat gun and then touches of glitter here and there because Christmas wouldn't be the same without glitter.

You can get your Festive Christmas CD collection right HERE

Hope you like my second make.

Polkadoodles Launch Day - Xmas Soup - Snowman Hanger Decoration

Hello folks and welcome to the first of my three blogs today showcasing the brand spanking new Xmas Soup collection from Polkadoodles.

I've been so lucky to play with this collection ahead of the shows on Create & Craft TV today at 2pm and 7pm.  Don't waste time getting your collections of digis on CD and the stamp sets because they'll be fast sellers for sure.

You can get your hands on the new stuff right HERE

For my first make, I'd like to share with you a snowman Christmas hanging decoration for which I've used some snowy acetate over a circular background that says Feliz Navidad on from the CD together with a decoupaged snowman which I printed out at nearly A4 size several times and then the tree from the collection too.  I used little silver bells covered in red glitter on the tree and then embellished with some ribbon and some faux snow sprinkles at the bottom of the snowman.

Here he is.....

Hope you like my first make.  Keep your eyes peeled for a few more makes from me today and over the next few days as well.

I'd like to enter the following challenges with my make:

Polkadoodles Launch Day - Xmas Soup - Triple Whammy Make of a Stepper card, Snowman Tealight, and a Cracker

Hello everybody

Well today is a brand new day and a brand new collection to be showcased by Nikky Hall of Polkadoodles on Create & Craft TV at 2pm and 7pm on Friday 16th August.  You can catch up with the shows by going to the Create & Craft website here

Anyway a few weeks ago before I went on holiday I got to play with the digi collection for the new Xmas Soup Collection that you can get right HERE and I came up with these three makes to begin with.

A stepper card with a shaped edge featuring one of the tags from the collection and the lovely parcels and papers and snowflakes and oodles of glitter and a white Christmas rose.

Now this make I really enjoyed creating....it's a snowman complete with light up nose courtesy of one of those battery operated tea lights.  I made the box from a template I found on the internet out of card which I printed some of the papers from the collection on and then added the snowman head and cut out his nose so I could poke the tealight through.  I then edged the make in glitter and white pom pom balls and red oval gems and red checked ribbon.  The black and white words are from Tim Holtz.

My last make to share with you this afternoon is a cracker.  The template was a first for me and I got it from Serif Craft Artist Professional.  I just love the papers on the collection and found it hard to choose just one but when I saw the vintage looking one with trees on I decided to use this as it went with the green satin ribbon from my collection.  I then printed off the red flowers in three different sizes and edged with glitter glue and then decoupaged them on top of one another and embellished the centre with a red oval gem.

Hope you've enjoyed looking at my first three makes...  I'll be back later tonight with another three makes which I'm excited to share with you all.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:
