WOYWW - Wednesday 29th April 2015

Well, we're half way through another week and as I was really busy last week with one thing and another I didn't do a WOYWW post - tut tut tut.

But I'm back now and have a few things to show you:

First of all I've finished the second bookfolding I'd started a few weeks ago and here it is:

It is decorated on the outside with faux pearls and lovely wallpaper featuring gold writing and birds and roses and finished off on the top of the book with faux pearls dotted about and a ribbon trimming that says the word 'Love' on it.  My customer is really pleased with it.

I've now started another one and this is on my desk today to do a little bit more:

Also on my desk today is a new crochet book from Rowan called 'Holiday Crochet'.  I've never bought a Rowan book before and when I saw this one at Black Sheep Wools over the weekend I was totally smitten with all the beautiful designs in it and have chosen to do one of them first for me and bought the white yarn called Rowan Creative Linen which now needs winding into balls from the skeins it has come in.  So at some point today my winding machinery will be coming out and whirring away.

I've also printed out some of the latest release design sheets from Polka Doodles called Twiggy & Toots and you can find them HERE:

The collection is available as a CD and now a Download and individual design sheets can also be purchased too.  Just head on over to the website for a nosey.  The full collection includes digis that are coloured and black and white to colour yourself together with embellishments and matching papers and lots of other things as well.  It's another fantastic collection!!!

These are the sheets I've printed out to make some cards from today:

Anyway, that's me for today.

Why not leave me a message as to what you're up to today on your crafting desk.

Take care

It's Digi Choosday Day - Week 17 - Clean & Simple

Hello everybody

Welcome to another  Digi Choosday challenge.  This week’s challenge is ‘Clean & Simple’.

Now followers of my blog will know that clean and simple is not really one of my kind of themes as I struggle when I’m not using embellishments be it by ribbon, dimension, glitter, etcetera.

But the new WORK & PLAY 10 COUNTRY LIFE collection has just the right images to fill the clean and simple theme.

I’ve printed the lovely Milking Time With Kittens digi out onto Ultimate Graphic paper and coloured her with my Graph It pens and then made a card shape using one of my dies by Tonic and added a simple sentiment tag – Just Popping By To Say Hi – also from the W&P 10 collection and voila….clean and simple.

Here is my crafty make:

These are the ingredients I have used:

  • Card
  • Milking Time with Kittens from the Work & Play 10 Country Life collection
  • Ultimate Graphic paper
  • Graph It pens
  • Sentiment tag from the Country Life collection
  • Tonic Threaded Scallop Square die for the card base

I’ve coloured the image with the following Graph It pens:

  • Skin: 4115, 4145, 4155, 4170, 6150
  • Lips: 5280
  • Eyes: 8180
  • Freckles: 1270
  • Hair: 4155, 3190, 3180, 4180, 3130
  • Kitties: 3110, 1230, 5120
  • Dress: 7210, 7250, 7270, 7290
  • Flower: 2110, 1180, 2140
  • Wellies: 9400, 9402, 9404
  • Milk Churns: 9201, 9203, 9205

I can’t wait to see your creations this week.  And remember, it’s not just for cards, you can create ANYTHING you want from home décor to cards, just remember to follow the rules listed in the blog.

Welcome to another DIGI CHOOSDAY challenge.  This week’s challenge is ‘Spots & Dots’.

I just love the newly released Eden Collection and this week again I’ve used one of the black and white digis called 'EDEN CHERRY BLOSSOM'.  The digis are available singly or as a collection.

I used some of the wonderful papers available on the collection too and used my Do Crafts Digital Creator to merge the digi and the papers together.

I’ve used my Graph It pens to colour her and my spots and dots have been put on the flowers by using my white Shake Graph It pen.  The flowers have been coloured using Graph It pens.

Here is my crafty make:

These are the ingredients I have used:

I’ve coloured the image with the following Graph It pens:

  • Skin: 4115, 4145, 4155, 4170, 6150

Octavia Moonfly Washing Day

Hello everybody

Another fast week has gone by and plenty of crafting been had in my little corner of the world in my lovely pink craft room.

I've done lots of colouring this week and have some images I'm going to make into cards this week but more on that on Wednesday in my forthcoming WOYWW.

A few weeks ago I coloured up a few of the new Octavia Moonfly digis from POLKA DOODLES and I've made cards with all of the black and white digis except this last one which is called Octavia Moonfly Washing Day.

I've coloured her using my Graph It pens which are my favourite favourite favourite colouring medium at the moment.  Do you think I love them?  Ha ha ha.  Well since I joined the Kit & Clowder colouring classes I think my colouring has improved no ends.  If you'd like further details of the classes then just click on the Kit & Clowder logo in the tabs at the side of the blog posts.  I'm half way through the skin and hair classes with the clothing and animals classes just ready and waiting for me to start.  I'm not rushing the classes as I want to take in all the information as best as I can.  I do try to do at least one hour a week on the classes however have been lagging behind this past few weeks while I concentrate on other things.

Anyway this is the image I've coloured and the card I've made with her:

I wish you could see her super sparkly wings but daylight photos don't show them to their full sparkly potential.

Here are the ingredients I have used:

  • 8x8 card blank
  • Papers and butterflies and sentiment and digi of Octavia from the Octavia Moonfly Big Kahuna bundle digi download but the digi is available as a single download here and the papers are available on different bundles too.  I used my Do Crafts Digital Designer to merge the papers.
  • Pinflair Glue Gel for the decoupaged butterflies
  • Glossy accents and Glamour Dust (Crystal) for the wings
  • Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Tumbled Glass for the edging of the sentiment
  • 3 faux pearls
  • Ultimate Graphic paper for the image

I coloured Octavia using the following Graph It pens

  • Skin - 4115, 4145, 4155, 4170, 6150
  • Lips - 5245
  • Hair - 3140, 3150, 3160, 3180, 3190
  • Clothes - 7125, 7175, 7210, 7180, 7165
  • Wings - 7105
  • Flowers - 1180, 2110
  • Wash Basket - 9100, 9101, 9102, 7125, 7165
  • Washing Line - 3255, 3230

Hope you have enjoyed looking at my Sunday creation.

Take care

WOYWW - Wednesday 15th April 2015

Hello crafters

Welcome to another Wednesday post.

A few weeks ago I decided to step into the world of Book Folding.  I had wanted to do this form of paper work for months, if not years, and so decided on making this perfect gift.  Since then I've got an order for another one and photos of my work so far can be found at the bottom of the post.

I bought a book from one of the many charity shops in my area, as did you know that any books donated that aren't bought are sent to landfill.  I know many of you out there, that are avid readers, can't understand why somebody would want to do this to a book as many see it as a form of vandalism etcetera, but the way I see it is that a charity is shop is benefiting from my purchase in a little way and I'm saving the book from the doom of the landfill.  Double whammy for me!!!

Anyway my first attempt has gone down really well and have found myself having a few enquiries and another order to work on.  It took me about 15 hours in total together with the decoration on the outside of the book.

Here is my first go:

Ingredients I've used:

  • Old book from charity shop
  • Black card for matting and layering
  • Pearls in two sizes
  • Brown chiffon ribbon
  • Pinflair Glue gel for the decoupage
  • Glitter for the decoupage
  • Papers and decoupage sheets from my various La Pashe CDs which I've printed out in sepia tones
This is the one I'm working on at the moment and is on my desk today.

Once it has been finished and decorated and the customer has received it I will be popping on with photos.

I would like to enter the following challenge:

That Craft Place Challenge Blog - Alter Something

In the meantime take care, and let me know what's on your desk today.

It's Digi Choosday Day - Week 15 - Pearls & Gems

Hello everybody

Welcome to another  Digi Choosday challenge.  This week’s challenge is ‘Pearls & Gems’.

I love all things sparkly and girly so this week’s challenge is great for me.

A few weeks ago the Eden Collection was released and these images are just great for adding embellishments to, whether it be ribbons, lace, glitter and are also fab for adding pearls and gems too.  After much deliberation I chose the Eden Butterflies black and white digi from the collection (but also available as an individual digi from the Polka Doodles shop)

Just click on the highlighted words to be taken to the fabby new Polka Doodles website and all things craft.

I’ve coloured her with Graph It pens in tones of blue and yellow and cut round the shape of the digi to make a shaped easel card.  The base is a circle and I’ve used flowers from my stash and some beautiful gem encrusted butterflies I picked up a few weeks ago from a craft fair I went to.  The pearls are in the centres of the glittered flowers on the coloured image.

Here is my crafty make:

These are the ingredients I have used:

I’ve coloured the image with the following Graph It pens:

Skin: 4115, 4145, 4155, 4170, 6150
Lips: 5245
Eyes: 7140
Hair: 3150, 3160, 3180, 3190
Clothing: 7105, 7115, 7140
Flowers: 7105, 7115, 7140, 7145, 7150, 7155, 7290
Butterflies: 1110, 1130, 1150, 1180, 9909

I can’t wait to see your creations this week.  And remember, it’s not just for cards, you can create ANYTHING you want from home décor to cards, just remember to follow the rules listed in the blog.

Foraging For Mushrooms

Hello everybody

Well that's nearly another weekend over and a busy week of crafting and other stuff behind me and with more to come this week.

The weather has been mixed but on the whole has been great - sunshine here in Lancashire - which is much needed.  I'm really loving the longer lighter nights.

It means I can do lots of colouring in daylight which is great to work in.

Anyway on Wednesday's post (WOYWW) I showed you a digi from Polka Doodles that I'd finished colouring over Easter and needed to make into a card.  Well I've done it and here it is:

As you can see I've used lots and lots of dies to embellish this card make and I've listed them below.  I've also used Ultimate Graphic paper to print my digi on and also coloured with Graph It's.  Distressed with my scissors and inks and she is finished.

If you want full details of where to buy the lovely digis just click on the highlighted words.

The ingredients I've used are:

Digi Coloured with Graph It's as follows:

WOYWW.... Wednesday 8th April 2015

Hello everybody

Welcome to another Wednesday.

I don't know about you but the weeks this year are flying by and no sooner has one month finished then it's fast forward to another month and in a flash it's gone.

Hope you all had a good Easter and Bank Holiday and enjoyed your time with family and friends.  I did a bit of crafting and worked on some orders and a birthday present.

But on my desk today I have the following:

I'm hoping to make a card with the Foraging digi from Polka Doodles Work & Play 10 Country Life Collection now that I've finished colouring her and also cut out some of the elements from the Design Sheet from the Work & Play 8 Music Collection and at least finish colouring the little girl Drummer from the Work & Play 8 Music Collection that I started colouring last week.  I've picked out some beautiful pink papers to co-ordinate with her as well.  Not sure of the shape of card yet or the design but I'll think about it while I'm colouring her.

If I do manage to finish some card making I'll be back at the weekend to show you my makes.  But in the meantime if you want to buy some of the digis I've used just click on the thumb linkies below for details.

Take care
