It's Digi Choosday Day - Week 13 - Ovals (Think Easter)

Hello everybody

Welcome to another  Digi Choosday challenge.  This week’s challenge is ‘Ovals (Think Easter)’.

Oh yes I’ve been doing some decoupage again!!!  Well I just had to because the lovely Cherry Blossom Lane has some fab decoupage/design sheets that are so wonderful to cut out.  I enlarged the sheet so the Bicycle Days was larger so that it became the focal point on my embellished polystyrene egg.

First of all I tore up a sheet of paper from the fab Rose Budd collection and stuck the paper to the egg using Mod Podge and gave it a coating over the top to make it shiny and then set about embellishing the egg with some white beads on pins with some lovely pink flower shimmery sequins dotted all over the egg.  I used ribbon and a tatty flower pinned to the top of the egg with a hat pin featuring faux pearls.  The decoupage of the Bicycle Days has taken centre point on the egg.

Here is my crafty make.

These are the ingredients I have used:

  • Cherry Blossom Lane Bicycle Days decoupage design sheet (see the Thumb Linkies below)
  • Sheet of paper from the Rose Budd collection (see the Thumb Linkies below)
  • Ribbon
  • Mod Podge
  • Hat Pin
  • Short headed pins
  • White beads
  • Pink flower sequins
  • Pinflair Glue gel
  • Tattered lacy pink rose
  • Diamond Stickles Glitter Glue

I can’t wait to see your creations this week.  And remember, it’s not just for cards, you can create ANYTHING you want from home décor to cards, just remember to follow the rules listed in the blog.

Take care

Will You Marry Me??

Hello everybody

Well I'm not asking you all if you would marry me (ha, ha, ha) because of course I'm married already, but I just thought I'd pop on to show you a card that I started making on Wednesday (check out my WOYWW post for this week for full details of my images) and finished on Friday.

I've used my Graph It's to colour the digis, which are available from POLKA DOODLES (Just click the linkies below for full details of the collection)

The lovely Work & Play Love Collection is full of pretty images that can be used for weddings, engagements, hen parties, and all love themes.  Full of coloured and black and white digis and pretty papers to match and co-ordinate.  Not only that it has some fab shaped cards and templates which are a little bit different from the norm.

I've used the circle stepper card to make the Will You Marry Me card and the Scrabble Tiles in shades of pink, cream and white from the collection.  And the question mark I've stamped myself on one of the extra blank Scrabble Tiles in the collection.  The other embellishments on the card are paper flowers, red spots using Liquid Pearls and the heart die which I've embossed with WOW powder.

Here is my crafty make:

These are the ingredients I have used:

  • Digi images from the Work & Play Love Collection
  • Circle Stepper template and paper from the same collection
  • Scrabble Tiles from the same collection
  • Liquid Pearls - Garnet
  • WOW Powder - Opaque Pastel Pink
  • Perfect Medium
  • Paper flowers in pinks and white
  • Graph It White Shaker Pen (for dots on girl's clothing)
  • Heart Die - X Cut - Floral Filigree Heart

Coloured with Graph It pens as follows:

Girl - Dress, Bow & Shoes - 5250, 5260, 5280
          Hair - 3140, 3150, 3180, 3190
          Skin - 4115, 4145, 4150, 4170, 6150
Boy - Suit - 9501, 9502, 9503, 9505
          Rose - 5250
          Shoes & Tie - 1270, 3150

It's Digi Choosday Day - Week 12 - Lots of Layers

Hello everybody

Welcome to another  Digi Choosday challenge.  This week’s challenge is ‘Lots Of Layers’.

Followers of my blog will already know that I like to add embellishments (lots of) to my cards in the form of ribbons and glitter, but especially I love love love decoupage.  There’s nothing more satisfying than sitting down with a pair of scissors and a sheet of paper or two and cutting out itty bitty little bits of images and then layering them up to create something beautiful.

The Work & Play 9 2XL Love collection (click on the Thumb Linky below for the collection)  has some fab design sheets included on it that have lots of little things to cut out and so this week I’ve chosen to work with Design Sheet No. 2 from the collection which features a little princess and a carriage, which could be used as a bridesmaid or a bride, or in this case I’ve taken a different slant on the image and used it as a prom card.  It’s nearly the time of year when all the school/college leavers will be thinking about what dress they should be wearing and hairstyles etc, so this image makes a great card for that occasion.

I’ve used a die called X Cut which is an extra large one to make the shape of the card and the layers but the rest of the design has been taken from the wonderful Work & Play collection including the hearts and the lovely faux scrabble tiles in shades of pink and beige and white.  I just adore these scrabble tiles.

Here is my crafty make.

These are the ingredients I have used:

  • White card
  • X Cut Extra Large Nesting Dies (Square Paranthesis) for the card shape and the matting and layering
  • Lilac card
  • Card for printing the design sheet on
  • Scrabble tiles for ‘On Your Prom’ from the Work & Play collection
  • Pinflair Glue
  • Glossy Accents
  • Cosmic Shimmer – Cosmic Twinkles Glitter Glue

I can’t wait to see your creations this week.  And remember, it’s not just for cards, you can create ANYTHING you want from home décor to cards, just remember to follow the rules listed in the blog.

Take care

WOYWW!! Wednesday 18th March2015

Hi everybody

Bit late with my WOYWW post today but here's what I'm up to today.

I've been colouring skin on the Polka Doodles Eden images called CherryBlossom and Window.

Not sure of my colour schemes for flowers and hair etcetera so just happy to think of what to use while I practice some skin shading with my GraphIt pens

I'm also going to find some time to do some Graph'It colour charts as I'm amassing a lot of Graph'its at the minute and need to know what the colours look like on Ultimate Graphics paper

And I've got a new Tattered Lace die called Dolls House to make a new home card with. I plan on doing lots of layering with it
Bye for now. What's on your desk today??

Take care

It's Digi Choosday Day - Week 11 - Anything But A Square Card

Hello everybody

Welcome to another  Digi Choosday challenge.  This week’s challenge is ‘Anything But A Square Card’.

I’ve used one of the templates available on the Work & Play 9 2XL Love collection in the shape of a wedding cake.  I printed out the image four times and then cut out the layers of cake and the flowers and decoupaged them before adding the scrabble tiles from the collection and added them down the right hand side of the cake.  Just a touch of glitter and some liquid pearls, and three resin flowers finish off the simple yet very effective card.

Here is my crafty make:

These are the ingredients I have used:

  • 4 sheets of card for printing the template
  • Cake template from the Work & Play 9 2XL collection (follow the Thumb Linky below)
  • Scrabble tiles for ‘WEDDING’ from the same collection
  • Pinflair Glue
  • 3 resin flowers
  • Quickie Glue Pen
  • Deco Art Glamour Dust (Crystal)
  • Liquid Pearls (White Opal)

I can’t wait to see your creations this week.  And remember, it’s not just for cards, you can create ANYTHING you want from home décor to cards, just remember to follow the rules listed in the blog. There's some great prizes up for grabs too!!!
