WOYWW!! Wednesday 28th January 2015

Hello everyone and welcome to the first of hopefully many posts for a Wednesday.

You see, I've chosen to adopt the WOYWW which stands for 'what's on your work desk Wednesday'.

Now even when my desk may seem in chaos with a million and one things on the go I will let you into what has got my crafting juices flowing.

So on my desk today I have the start of a very special bespoke commission wedding card that's travelling  many many miles away in a few weeks time to India.

I purchased the digi image online which is absolutely perfect in every way and I'm just beginning to start the skin shading and bridal gown. I've never done this skin shade before but I think I'm getting there even if it will involve many many layers. The bridal dress is the traditional red one and so I've chosen my shades from my ever growing Graph It collection. They really are phenomenal pens to use. The colour palette and range is second to none I believe.

Anyway here's the start of the colouring

I'm going to incorporate some gold into the mix as well and have a die cut heart that I've cut on my Grand Calibre and glittered up using gold sparkly WOW powder. I have ribbon too that has gold shimmery glitter encapsulated within it and a length of sheer organza ribbon with tiny hearts on that I hope to use somewhere too.  The background is an embossing folder from the India range by Sheena that has an awesome henna design on.

Hope you can see the detailing on the embossing

Anyway must dash and get on with creating this Indian wedding card. Hope you'll pop back soon to see my finished card and if you'd like to tell me what's on your desk today then let me know by leaving me a message below in the comments bit and I'll pop over and see.

Crafty wishes
Take care

It's Digi Choosday Day - Week 4 - Cool Blues

Hello everybody

Welcome to another  DIGI CHOOSDAY challenge.  This week’s challenge is ‘Cool Blue.’

And just like last week I've opted to use one of the images from the Winston Deluxe Collection called Etty Shy which I've coloured using the ‘dotting’  technique with my Graph It pens, full details of the colours I've used for the bear can be seen below.

The easel card has been made on my Do Crafts Designer using the papers from the Winston Collection and then I've resized the flower images on the Collection to make them smaller and cut them out to decoupage them, together with the paper ribbon, finishing the flowers off with some cute blue buttons.

The ‘Happy Birthday’ scrabble tiles are from the brand spanking new CD collection ‘Work & Play 9 2XL Love’ available  HERE

Here is my crafty make:

These are the ingredients I have used:

  • White card for the Easel card
  • Assorted papers and digi image and flowers and paper bow from the WINSTON DELUXE COLLECTION
  • Stickles Glitter Glue (Waterfall) (available HERE)
  • Glossy Accents
  • Buttons
  • Graph It markers – 7125, 7140, 8260, blender pen

It's Digi Choosday Challenge Day - Week 2 - January Birthdays

Hello everybody

Welcome to the second of this year’s Digi Choosday challenges and it’s January birthdays.

*DOWNLOAD Work & Play 8 **BONUS**FULL Collection
I've always struggled when it comes to making boys/male cards as I don’t want to go too cutesy so I squealed with delight when the Work and Play CD’s and downloads appeared as they cover the male themes really really well.  I was doubly delighted to find out that a new Work & Play digis (Number 8!!!) had been released and have had a sneaky play with it ahead of the release date last week.  I've made a male birthday card using the coloured image of the guitar boy which I have printed out four times and decoupaged in layers using Pinflair Glue gel.  You can buy the image HERE as a single one which isn't coloured and the CD for the full collection is available HERE and the download available HERE

I have used four of the papers available on the collection and resized them using my Do Crafts Digital Designer and layered them onto one another to create the squares.  Finished off the design with one of the many many tags available and with a length of satin musical note ribbon which I've distressed using some Tim Holtz Distress Ink.

Here is my crafty make:-

These are the ingredients I have used:

  • 8x8 card
  • Sheets of card to print the images onto
  • Digi image and papers and sentiment from the Work & Play 8 CD collection available HERE and HERE
  • Pinflair Glue for the decoupage elements
  • Ribbon with musical notes on
  • Distress Ink – Old Paper

It's Digi Choosday Challenge Day - Week 1 - Thanks

Hello everybody

Welcome to the first of the DIGI CHOOSDAY challenges of the year and a celebration of ‘THANKS’.

We all should have received some gifts over the Christmas period, or if not we should have something in our lives that’s happening, that we are to be grateful for and give thanks to.

I’m kicking the DIGI CHOOSDAY  challenge year off with a fab large 8x8 card featuring some decoupage and glitter and glaze.  I've used one of the wonderful coloured Dollie Goes East characters, one of the background papers and some of the letters.

The CD/Download can be purchased HERE and HERE and is chock full of wonderful images that are so vibrantly coloured and great fun.

The image I've used can also be bought as a single digi image HERE
Some of the images on the CD/download are coloured and some are black and white ready for you to crack open those alcohol markers that Father Christmas may have brought you.  So if you haven’t received some for Christmas then why not buy yourself some from the wonderful Polka Doodles website HERE

It just makes so much sense to buy the whole bundle rather than the single digi image.  You will not be disappointed!!

Here is my crafty make:

These are the ingredients I have used:

  • 3 sheets of card to print the coloured digi image onto
  • 1 sheet of card for the background and the lettering
  • Card blank measuring 8x8”
  • Image, papers and letters from Dollie Goes East
  • Pinflair Glue for the decoupage elements
  • Stickles Glitter Glue in Waterfall for the edges of the letters
  • Ranger Glossy Accents for highlighting the water and the Chinese lanterns
  • Kars Loose Glitter for sprinkling (in small amounts over the lanterns)

Happy New Year!!

Hello everybody

Well I hope everybody's Christmas celebrations, or holiday celebrations, went brilliantly and you all enjoyed yourselves whatever you did and wherever you were.

Well we are into a new year...  Let's bring on 2015 and hope it's a good one for all concerned.  I'm wishing all my followers a healthy, wealthy and peaceful one.

I'm looking forward to making more crafty things and learning things along the way, but in the meantime I'm going to keep Christmas going all year, just like I did last year, with a new card make each month.  Last year I decided to put all my Christmas card makes on the website in one go around about September time, but I've had a rethink and have decided to put them on my blog as I go along so new cards will appear at the beginning of each month.  I've got lots of new things and stamps to play with that I will be experimenting with along the way.  Hope you will join me on the 1st of each month to see what I've made.

So I was up bright and early and in my craft room making a lovely vintage style Christmas tree card and here it is:

Here are the ingredients I have used:

  • Woodware Clear Stamp called 'Twig Tree;
  • Distress Ink in the colours Shabby Shutters and Old Paper for stamping and distressing the edges of the card/paper
  • White card for stamping
  • 8x8" cream card
  • Checked paper for background from a magazine freebie
  • Brown chiffon satin edged ribbon
  • Buttons - Green and White
  • Quickie Glue Pen
  • Kars Extra Fine loose glitter
  • Tim Holtz Distressing Tool for the edges
I would love to know if you too are keeping Christmas going all year round and hoping to keep on top of the card making so there's not too much of a rush leading up to Christmas 2015.  Leave me a link to your blog and the creations you have made as I would love to see them.

Back soon.
Take care
