Chorley Carnival 2014 - Saturday 7th June

Hello everybody

Last weekend was the Chorley Carnival.
It was the second one after a break of around 20 years.

However, last year the weather was brilliant and the sun shone all the time, but this year the rains came for the procession day.

The weather was grim to wake up to to say the least.  Grey skies and rain - lots of it.  I really felt sorry for those in the procession having to walk about 2 mile or so in their finery and all the time and work it took to make all the decorations on the floats.  We hoped and prayed that the weather would clear ready for the start of the procession - 12 o'clock.

The weather did settle and was dry for a couple of hours and then just before the procession started the very heavens opened and it carried on until mid-afternoon when the sun came out.  And again, on the Sunday the weather was glorious.

We took shelter in the Old Vintage Tea Rooms beforehand and had a lovely cream tea before joining to watch the procession as it hit Market Street on i…

Visit to Great British Craft Festival 2014 - Bolton

Hello everyone

Hope you're having a good weekend.

Well last weekend the sun shone on the Saturday, 31st May and we visited the Great British Craft Festival which for the first time was held at Bolton Arena.

This is only a stone's throw away from where we live so the visit was sealed really.  How could the opportunity to be missed?  We booked our tickets online quite a few months ago and they arrived at the beginning of May.  Bags packed and money saved for some crafting goodies off we went to the Arena and we arrived there just before 10am to a queue of traffic from all directions all off to shop for craft goodies.  After a few minutes we had parked up and had got ourselves some toast and a coffee.  There was no point in us joining the streams of people queuing up outside.  We may as well have a rest for the walking we will be doing round all the lovely stalls that greeted us.

After a browse around and a quick note in the festival programme we went off for a coffee and decide…

My June Christmas Card

Hello everybody and welcome to a new month.
It's now June and we are half way through the year.  Where has the time gone?
Anyway with the weather turning warmer (well one minute raining and the next sunshining - a typical British summer!!) my thoughts are still on Christmas, however I am no longer a member of the DT for Christmas Fun but I'm going to press ahead and have a different Christmas card to show you on the 1st of each month..
I have a 'Clean & Simple' design for you this month.  I don't really do clean and simple designs so this was a difficult theme for me as I like plenty of embellishments and glitter and sometimes ribbon and plenty of dimension.  I like to be challenged with my card making.

The ingredients I have used for this card are:
Digi image from From The Heart called Seven Christmas Birds Printed directly onto a DL Linen type card with sentiment Coloured with Graph It pens ( Lemon, Ruby, Mint, Dark Cyan, Espresso)Coloured with Pro Marker pen…
